My name is Lisbet Michelsen and I offer Coaching, Counselling, Hypnotherapy and Ecotherapy.


I’m a fully qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. My counselling training was integrative and I am passionate about bringing together different elements of specific therapies to support and work with all the different aspects that make up who you are.

There are times when everyone feels that they just can’t cope, perhaps going through a difficult life event or being affected by things that have happened in the past. At such times it may be helpful to speak to someone trained to listen within a safe and confidential counselling space. As a counsellor I will help you to explore your difficulties and understand the emotions behind them as well as support you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself. More about counselling.


In 2005 I joined a new group of like-minded people in Bristol exploring ecopsychology, the theory behind ecotherapy. It was during this personal journey that I began to discover how two longstanding interests of mine, psychology and the environment, could come together in my work. Essentially the emerging field of ecopsychology weaves together the psychological, ecological and spiritual.

This led me to train in Joanna Macy’s ‘Work that Reconnects’ and I facilitated these workshops for a number of years. Uniquely, ecopsychology was also a module within my counselling training, focusing on how the relationship between the mind, body, soul and the land can be explored and developed. Ecotherapy sessions take place primarily outdoors - an outdoor therapy. I am currently deepening my own experience in this area by doing a further training in ‘Ecopsychology and Nature based Practices’. More about ecotherapy.


I trained in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy after being inspired about the power of language on a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) course. I work with people who bring a varied range of issues. Within this approach the focus is on making positive changes and supporting you to identify and achieve your goals.

My hypnotherapy work is influenced by the discipline of positive psychology, which focuses on the positive aspects of human life, such as happiness, well-being and flourishing. I aim to support you to discover and promote the aspects that allow you to thrive. More about hynotherapy.

Coaching and Green Space Coaching

In my coaching sessions there is a focus on 'being you'. Exploring who you are as a person and what you want from life, based on discovering and living from your values. Bringing greater awareness to your life and what's important to you. You are encouraged to be curious, to explore what it's like to be human today and to find your direction going forth.

I believe that we all have the potential for happiness and well-being to flourish in our lives and to live with a purpose that is rooted in our values. We don't always allow ourselves happiness and life satisfaction. The reason for this can be rooted in beliefs, many of which come from others e.g. parents, teachers, work environments and society in general.

My style of coaching is integrative and in particular I draw on the approaches of positive psychology, NLP, mindfulness and ecopsychology. I support you to move towards positive mood, confidence, decision-making, greater resilience, purpose, inspiration and life-satisfaction while you are being firmly grounded in your values.
